QUEEN ANNE’S REVENGE
Located on Daniel Island, South Carolina
One of America’s Finest Restaurants
By Glenn Arnette, lll
It is all about the Pirate and his Ship! Known as the Queen Anne’s Revenge, Blackbeard, the Pirate, sailed the high seas and ravaged the North and South Carolina coasts! With the latest discovery of the anchor from the ship, it brings to mind one of the finest restaurants in the Southeast.
Queen Anne’s Revenge Restaurant, located on Daniel Island in South Carolina (near Charleston in Berkeley County) prides itself on quality food and beautiful surroundings. The interior of the restaurant is adorned with collectables, model ships, fantastic paintings and more. Nestled among beautiful trees and flowers, your enterance into the restaurant guarantees some of the best food in the South under the direction of Brent Quiggle, Executive Chef.
This is a restaurant where you savor delicious varieties of foods from Low Country seafood, steaks and those special recipes only found in the South. One of my favorites was the Oysters on half shell!
Other fantastic items on the menu are:
Smoked Buffalo Chicken Wings
Roast Beef Po’boy with Provolone, Charred Onion, and Natural Juices
Roasted Springer Mountain Chicken,
Farm Vegetables of the Day, and Lemon Jus
Cornmeal Battered Fried Catfish, Pickled Okra, Tartar Sauce, and French Fries
BBQ Pork Shoulder with Johnny Cakes, Baked Sea Island Red Peas
Chopped Salad with local Farm Lettuces, Jalapeño Cheddar, Benton’s Bacon, Tomato, Picked Egg, Pecan crusted Chicken, and Green Goddess Dressing
Hello! The Prime Rib is to die for!
WAIT UNTIL YOU TRY SOME OF THE ITEMS ON THEIR NEW MENU!
Clint Sloan, the award winning Advanced Sommelier/Beverage Director at both Husk and McCrady’s, has lent his expertise to revamp the beer, wine, and cocktail program to complement Queen Anne’s new, seasonal approach. What a wonderful place to relax and enjoy a good drink or that special glass of wine or one of their fine beers.
The location of the Queen Anne’s Revenge is a world of its own. Formerly owned by Harry Frank Guggenheim, Daniel Island was formerly used primarily for farming, cattle ranching, and as a private hunting retreat. The island remained undeveloped until the early 1990s and is now a 4,000-acre oasis that holds rivers, creeks, and beautiful marshes for those who live and visit here to enjoy and explore.
Queen Anne's Revenge opened in 2001 and was the first restaurant to be built on the Island. It is conveniently located next to the Hampton Inn on Fairchild Street and offers ample parking and a quiet location to embrace the tranquility of this unique location.
Believe me when I tell you to surround yourself with luxury, good food and the talents of the Chef. Executive Chef Brent Quiggle has over two decades of vast culinary experience and talent in a variety of locales from New York to Finland, California and Georgia. In 2001, Charleston, South Carolina became his home when he opened Queen Anne’s Revenge on Daniel Island. He is the top chef of this restaurant and you will enjoy all of his offerings.
Give them a call, make a reservation and know that it will not cost you and arm an a leg or be attacked by pirates when you dine on Daniel Island, South Carolina. My personal thanks to the Chef for everything!

This really was a “treasure discovered” when I was introduced to the Queen Anne’s Revenge by the Berkeley County Chamber. My goodness, had I missed this experience, I would have missed the true uniqueness of the Low Country and its Southern charm.
